Duffy Engineering Background and History

Duffy Engineering & Associates, Inc. is a Land Surveying, Structural, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Design Firm located in St. Cloud, Minnesota, and primarily serves the central part of the state. However, we provide professional engineering services in six Mid-western states. We were incorporated in 1990 and presently have a staff of twenty-five employees. Our firm was developed around the goal of providing cost effe3ctive professional engineering services with an emphasis on meeting the tight time frames which Central Minnesota clients have come to expect.

Duffy Engineering, Inc. P.A., founded by Terry W. Duffy, P.E., incorporated on March 6, 1990, and opened an office in downtown St. Cloud. It operated as a Civil and Structural Engineering design firm primarily serving the Central Minnesota area. A short time later, the firm moved to offices at Benton Square Professional Building in Sauk Rapids.

In March 1993, a new division of Duffy Engineering was added. Central Minnesota Drafting provides structural steel shop drawing services to a number of local fabricators in Minnesota.

January 2000, Duffy Engineering changed status and name to become Duffy Engineering & Associates, Inc.

On March 31, 2000, Brown Herkenhoff, Inc., was purchased by Duffy Engineering to form a surveying division doing business under the name of Brown Herkenhoff Surveyors.

In February 2002, Duffy Engineering added two new engineering services and now specializes and is divided into five divisions: Structural, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering Services and Land Surveying.

On July 22, 2004 Duffy Engineering moved to its new site and present location near the intersection of Highway 10 and Highway 23 in St. Cloud. This site will offer upgraded facilities, greater client and community visibility and room for future company expansion.
